A few months ago I started to hear a banging when I would flush the toilet. I called American Home Shield and paid the $100 deductible. They sent a plumber out right away. The knocking didn’t happen when he was here and he diagnosed it as sediment in the water heater.

Well, the knocking got worse, louder, and when I ran the water as well as flushed the toilet. American Home Sheild sent the plumber back out. He determined it was the pressure-reducing valve. He adjusted it, the knocking stopped..for a day or so.

Then it started back up, even worse this time. I contacted American Home Shield, again. They sent the plumber, again. He adjusted the valve, again.

Then the knocking was so loud it would wake me up at night. It sounded as though a pipe might burst. I contacted American Home Sheild again. Waiting on a response, and turning on the sprinkler to water my lawn, the faucet handle shot outward, the pressure in the hose, violent. The faucet would not turn off. It was Friday night, Allstate Plumbing was closed (that is who had been coming). Then American Home Shield told me that “water pressure is not something they cover” so I had to call an emergency plumber to come out to my house.
