Grounding and If Only The Trees Could Talk
Do I have your permission to touch your trunk and absorb some earth energy?
I’m walking alone in the park, it’s a nice sunny day, and I love the sights and sounds. Up ahead, I see a massive and beautiful tree, WOW I think to myself. There is an empty water bottle at the base of her trunk.
I walk underneath her massive branches and stoop down to pick up the trash. “May I touch you?” I ask her. I pause before placing my palm on her rough bark. I close my eyes and take a deep breath, absorbing her energy through my skin.
Opening my eyes, I plop down on the grass. I wonder how old this tree is, and many people have sat under her branches. She looks as if she has been through a lot. If only the trees could talk, what a story they would have to tell.
This tree was probably planted in this park way back in the days of the Latter Day Saints pioneers. They arrived in Utah on July 24, 1847, and Brigham Young spoke his famous words, “This is the place.” I know these lovely facts because I grew up in Utah. It wasn’t a history class unless you were taught the history of the dominant faith.
